The Faculty of Medicine at Deraya University in New Minya is a modern, state-of-the-art facility that provides students with the resources they need to succeed in their studies. The building has a footprint of 6,200 square meters and a built-up area of 21,850 square meters on five levels. It consists of 10 large lecture halls, a number of labs and classrooms that can accommodate 200 students per cohort, and all the student support spaces they need, including study rooms, a library, and activity rooms. The building also includes all the staff rooms, such as assistant staff offices, department heads' offices, and the dean's section. The interior of the building is very modern, the lobby features an interesting staircase that leads to the upper floors of the building  with a triple-height entrance lobby that is clad in wood and marble. The lobby features an interesting triple-height atrium in the middle, with modern glass railings. The facade of the building is also attractive and has been carefully designed with the environment in mind. Large glass areas are found in spots that do not face the sun, while smaller openings are found in areas with direct solar exposure in addition to the well-studied use of sun breakers. The facade also includes elegant and modern marble cladding and aluminum cladding, in addition to an iconic giant outdoor shed that is perfect for outdoor gatherings. The Faculty of Medicine at Deraya University is a great example of modern architecture that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It is a facility that will provide students with the tools they need to succeed in their studies and become the next generation of doctors.
